I just picked up an Asus p6t deluxe motherboard (includes onboard sound) and
intel core i7 920 processor a few days ago (also needs newer "ddr3" memory).
Along with that I used an nvidia card from my old system (nvidia has great
support these days), a few spare hard drives/cdrom drive, and a new power
supply supporting the new(?) 24 pin motherboard power connector, and I had a
complete system.
The hardware is fully supported in Fedora 10, out of the box.
To enable graphics acceleration, I installed the kmod-nvidia package from
rpmfusion ( http://rpmfusion.org/Configuration ). This package tracks the
fedora project releases, and has a number of failsafes to make sure xorg
won't break when your system is updated (we use their package on the csc lab
machines!).
